HI! BONJOUR!

Hi everyone! 

 

My name is Sarah de Jaer and I am the founder of Mais Oui! 

I am from Brussels, Belgium, grew up there then at 17, moved to Austin, Texas.

When I moved, I could barely put an English sentence together but I had strong motivation to learn, probably due to my high need of sociability!

​

With a lot of work, a lot of gestures and being surrounded by such amazing human beings. A couple months later I could put sentences together, then a month after, I could laugh and understand jokes, and it just kept growing. Now I am fluent in English! 

Don't get me wrong, I'm still learning everyday!

I have to say that since I achieve this, I think it will always be my most pride. Languages open you to a brand new world, new culture. It brings you to places you never thought you'd go and expand your knowledge on so many levels.

​

So about 6 years ago, I thought, why can't I make that dream come true for other? 

I started to tutor and teach private lessons, just as a side gig and I have absolutely loved it. I taught to kids, high school students, college, families willing to learn something new together, people wanted to have conversations to not loose the language, groups going on a trip to France. Some of those people have became as close as family to me and I am grateful for it everyday.

Friends have pushed me to focus more on my lessons for a long time but I never went for it... until Now!

I want to expand my lessons to another level! 

Keep the private lessons but adding fun group courses of different programs and levels. I want these programs to be fun, exciting and to be personal!

I am hoping to be able to grow this business everyday and bring on more people and language!

 

And I'm especially hoping to be able to bring excitement and pride to all my students like it did for me!
